What is considered “local”?

The USDA states, “Local food is defined as the direct or intermediated marketing of food to consumers that is produced and distributed in a limited geographic area.” We define local by a 40 mile radius of Downtown Bellefontaine. LCFSI and all markets value the benefits of keeping our products specific to our region.
